Kate and her business partner launched The Trainer’s Pouch in 2017, but, despite encouraging sales early on, she noticed that business had stagnated, and she wasn’t sure how to shock it back to life.
HOW SHE USED START & SCALE
Kate essentially relaunched the business by changing the platform, rebranding the packaging, reframing their online marketing plan and refining their brand voice.
Within the first month of the relaunch, sales had already doubled, and after launching a second product, finding two warehouses and expanding to new stockists, Kate’s business is on track for a six-figure year.

In 2017, Kate and her business partner launched The Trainer’s Pouch selling an easy-access, unique silicone treat pouch for dog owners and trainers.
But Kate soon noticed that, although they had done amazing sales upfront, expansion had stagnated, and they were only bringing in a few thousand a month in sales with no trend toward increasing.
So, when she stumbled across an advertisement for Start & Scale, she decided to give the course a try.
Kate says that they essentially relaunched the business from scratch. They changed their store platform, refined their brand voice, discovered the importance of packaging and utterly revamped their approach to online marketing.
When the business relaunched in 2018 with the exact same product, they immediately doubled their sales. But they had also discovered a demand for a smaller version of the pouch, and by building hype through an email campaign as they were taught through the course, they brought in $16,000 from the launch of the new product alone.
Kate also says that the Facebook group has been a phenomenal resource for them. Through contacts in the group, they found two warehouses — one in America and one in the UK — which has decreased international shipping costs and led to another explosion in business.
“I was happy just with a little bit of growth, but it actually went a lot bigger than I thought!”
With these incredible spurts of growth, as well as landing new stockist in multiple countries, The Trainer’s Pouch is on track to become a six-figure business this year.
