Meet Piers

Piers and his wife have a love for French wine, with Rosé being their favourite! They had long thought about starting a business selling premium French Rosé online at affordable prices.

Before Start & Scale

“We started the business in Nov 2016 as a little side project. We did not know how to be properly online. Over the period Nov to July this year we had 2 online sales. Both from my mum.

Through winter we did a couple of wine shows. These were very expensive and no tangible results. Further, winter is not a great time for Rosé. So, I came up with an idea to boost sales in winter.”

Piers came up with the idea to make Rosé Gummy Bears, but didn’t know how to harness the online market, so he enrolled in the Start & Scale Course.

Piers knew that he wanted to take the product to a bigger market and implemented some marketing strategies for advertising on Facebook and Instagram.

“I could see I had to go bigger, so I did some ads on Facebook and Instagram and it went… we did $7000 in August all .. through Shopify!

I used the same principles in with the wine. We did over $5,000 and for the first time sold online wine through August.

So, for August we did over $12,000… and it is not rosé season!”
