Meet Hayden

Hayden, who studied marketing and business, always knew he wanted to be an entrepreneur.

So when his mom, a naturopath and health practitioner for over two and a half decades, became interested in the healing properties of the Kunzea ambigua plant, Hayden saw a way to utilize his skills. After working with a local compounding pharmacist, the Brass family had a formula that contained a safe dose of Tasmania’s Kunzea oil.

And so Zea Relief was born.

With a range of products centered around the essential oil, the Brasses were ready to deliver their product to the masses. Zea Relief experienced slow but steady growth for three years, and when Hayden saw that the company was ready to scale, he wanted to make sure they had all their ducks in a row.

They transferred their website to Shopify, and Hayden registered for the Start & Scale course. And even though Zea Relief was already a three-year-old company, Hayden didn’t just focus on learning how to scale. He also invested time in the modules on the preparation for launch.

“What was really good about getting involved with Start & Scale was it allowed us to basically tighten up the loose ends and basically get things ready for taking it to the next level.”

He used the early lessons as a checklist to ensure they hadn’t missed a thing since launch. Then he was ready to prepare for scale.

Hayden devoured all the tips and tricks offered within the course on marketing and customer service and also engaged actively within the course Facebook group, and his results were undeniable.

“Once we implemented that and started scaling it through Facebook advertising, last year we saw sales increases of 400-500% throughout our store.”

And 18 months after taking the course, Zea Relief is still seeing continued results. They have seen growth month over month and are on track to bring in $500,000 this financial year.
