When Jasmine graduated from college with a degree in fashion, she immediately decided she didn’t want to do fashion anymore. She decided that she wanted to launch an online magazine instead.
She noticed that many of her friends graduated college feeling like there was a huge gap between what they’d learned in college and what they needed to know for the real world, like personal finance and how to translate a degree into a thriving career. So, she decided to create a magazine to fill that gap, and Miss Millennia Magazine entered into the world.
After launch, she found that she was mostly making money through sponsored posts. And although she was doing fairly well, she realized that she made only about $10-$50 a post through Facebook or Twitter but could make up to $500 a post through Instagram. But she didn’t have enough followers to partner with bigger brands.
